In January, rumours of Cecilia Cheung getting ready to tie the knot emerged after she was speculated to be getting engaged to Taiwanese host He Meng Huai in October. At the time, her agency denied the rumours and called the reports “false news” which had “caused disruptions to Cecilia’s work and personal life”.
However, netizens believe that marriage could really be on the cards for Cecilia after reading a reply which she posted on her Instagram account yesterday.
The original post was an album of photos of her having a family dinner with her sons, Lucas and Quintus, along with her mother, Davies Shally. She was previously reported to have an icy relationship with her mother as she felt “bullied” by her family and has always been the main breadwinner for them.
Netizens were glad to see that their relationship has since thawed, and Cecilia even commented on her original post that “my sons told me, ‘Mummy, your mummy is really pretty’.” However, what caught their eye was her reply to another comment left on the photo, in which the 38-year-old said, “I’ll work hard to give birth to a daughter first”. Fans have left their well-wishes to Cecilia following her comment, which they believe has indirectly confirmed that she is currently seeing someone with the intention to tie the knot in the near future.
Cecilia and Meng Huai met on the set of Chinese reality programme, The Goddess’ Choice last year, and their overly friendly interactions sparked rumours that they were more than just co-stars. Cecilia has been linked with numerous men since her high-profile divorce with Hong Kong actor Nicholas Tse in 2011.
