Actors Carina Lau and Tony Leung are known as one of Hong Kong’s top celebrity couples. The pair dated for 19 years before tying the knot in 2008 and are still madly in love with each other, even after all these years.
But of course, there’s no such thing as a perfect relationship, and Carina took the opportunity to vent about a particular personality trait of her husband’s during a recent guest appearance on reality show Up Idol.
“Tony doesn’t care about anything at all - even when I tell him something, he doesn’t take heed of what I say!” Carina shared. “For example, when we were renovating our house, he carried in a small box and left, and only returned when everything was done.”
The other guests then quickly tried to reassure Carina, praising her for “giving up so much” in the course of their relationship.
In response, the 54-year-old actress admitted, “Tony has also given up and tolerated a lot, just like I have,” making sure to paint a fair picture of their relationship.
Previously, Carina had also shared the secret to their long-lasting relationship, revealing that the heart of their marriage was not love. Instead, it was mutual tolerance.
“A marriage is about tolerance, but it’s not just tolerance from one party (…) You may think that you’re the one tolerating the other party, but they are doing the same thing too! Do you really think that you’re that easy to get along with?” she questioned.
