Korean artistes BTS have once again proven to live up to their title as the biggest boy band in the world with their latest tour announcement.
While the septet is still in the midst of completing their LOVE YOURSELF World Tour with upcoming stops in Hong Kong and Bangkok, the group shows no sign of slowing down as they have confirmed that they will embark on a new tour, SPEAK YOURSELF, from May.
BTS’ upcoming tour will see them perform at the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium in Los Angeles, before travelling east to Chicago and New Jersey. Following which, they will play in Sao Paulo, Brazil before jetting over to Europe to perform in London and Paris.
The only Asian stops that have been confirmed are in Japan, where BTS will perform in Osaka for two nights, followed by two shows in Shizuoka.
It’s worth noting that all of the venues chosen for their tour are all stadiums that can accommodate a minimum 47,000 concert-goers.
In numbers, it seems more impressive as the total number of fans that they will be meeting in this first wave itself at the Rose Bowl Stadium (90,888), Soldier Field (61,500), MetLife Stadium (82,500), Allianz Parque (55,000), Wembley Stadium (90,000), Stade De France (90,000), Yanmar Stadium Nagai (47,000) and Shizuoka Stadium (50,889) exceeds 660,000 – and this is just a modest estimate based on figures provided by the respective stadiums. Depending on the configuration of the venue, these numbers could fluctuate and actual numbers will likely only be available after the tour ends.
BTS will also be the first Korean artistes to perform at many of these venues, which has caused a buzz around the world as sales for this unprecedented tour will begin on March 1.
The LOVE YOURSELF World Tour has sold out all 42 of its shows, and was held in 20 cities spread over three continents.
