The last we heard from Hongkong actor Anthony Wong, he had just arrived in Taiwan on a two-month work permit. At that time, the 58-year-old had mentioned in a Facebook comment that he was planning to become a Taiwanese citizen.

According to the actor, after China blacklisted him from ever working there 'cos of his support for Hongkong’s pro-democracy movement in 2014, his income stream basically dried up.

So when the producers of Taiwanese drama Heaven on the Fourth Floor approached Anthony to be part of the drama, he accepted immediately and even reportedly remarked that when it came to working in Taiwan, “price is not an issue, as long as I can work [here]”.
