All The Stars At Ian Fang's 'Still Me' Launch Party

They all love him, don't they?

All The Stars At Ian Fang's 'Still Me' Launch Party

Is Ian Fang’s Mediacorp’s most popular star or what? The actor threw a party last night (Dec 18) to celebrate the launch of his new single ‘Still Me’ at Space Club on Magazine Road. And many stars as well as industry insiders and his fans turned up to show Ian support at the event, which also marked the fourth anniversary of his label First Attempt XIX. (FYI: Many of the stars also wore T-shirts from the actor's label.) If that’s not a testament to how likeable Ian is among his peers and seniors (veteran actors like Richard Low, Zhu Houren and Wang Yuqing were also part of the merry making), we don’t know what is. The shindig kicked off at 9.15pm (though guests had already started arriving at 7.30pm) when Ian took to the stage to perform his 2015 single ‘First Attempt’ with Sylvester Sim. “I hope I still remember the lyrics,” Ian joked.
And after a botched, um, first attempt (he was let down by a faulty sound system), Ian launched into ‘Still Me’, spitting out the lyrics to the very confessional track, which also featured vocals from Desmond Ng, with Eminem-like gusto and ferocity. We saw Julie Tan raising her hands and moving to the beat, Felicia Chin resting her head on Jeffrey Xu’s shoulder, both of them glued to the performance, and Rebecca Lim beaming from ear to ear as she looked on at Ian proudly. The crowd erupted in applause at the end of the performance with Aileen Tan’s “Encore!” piercing through the symphony of cheers.
“I’m very happy that everyone is here… [You guys] really give me a lot of face. Thanks everyone!” Ian said. And as if he needed to remind everyone who he was, he bellowed into the mic his parting words for the night: “My name is Ian f****ing Fang!”
