Hongkong singer Leo Ku, 47, and his 50-year-old wife, Lorraine Chan, have finally become parents.
He announced the good news on his social media last night (March 16) along with two photos of his family's latest member.
Welcome to the world!
“This is a very meaningful announcement for me and my wife,” Leo wrote on Facebook. “Originally, we planned to announce the news on Lunar New Year. But due to the pandemic, we’ve decided that it would be more appropriate to announce it at a later time. We wanted to break the news on Children’s Day, April 4, but we suddenly received well-wishes from many of our friends tonight. I want to sincerely thank all our friends and fans who love me and my wife. I will continue to be a good husband and father!”
The couple, who secretly registered their marriage in 2014 in Las Vegas after dating for 20 years, had been pretty low-key about Lorraine’s pregnancy.
Whenever they were asked by journos about their plans for a baby, Leo would always simply respond with a noncommittal: “We’re working hard.”
Just last year, Leo raised suspicions that his personal-assistant-turned-wife could be pregnant when he requested for an extended break after completing his world tour in Las Vegas in November.
He remained under the radar until January this year, when he showed up at an event sans his wife, who is usually seen with him.
According to reports, Lorraine gave birth in the US at the end of last year, but the couple chose to keep mum about the pregnancy was considered a high-risk one due to her age. The newborn, whose name and gender has yet to be revealed, is said to be about three months old now.
