Zoe Tay's Most Memorable Shoots

“I really struggled with this shoot because it was so daring, so rare for that era [1991]! It was shot on David Gan’s bed and he said, ‘Don’t worry, I just bought the bed and I changed the bed sheets for you!’ I also know what I said [“fame is not as important as money” ] created a big hoo-hah but I was very young then, you know. (Turns to Joanne Peh) You better be careful what you say! They’re reading back to me what I said 20 years ago!”

Of course, Zoe graced our cover when we turned one. (Issue 53, Oct 12, 1991)

“The photo we shot in bed was very uncomfortable. He was very stressed because he didn’t know how to pose, and he kept bugging me, ‘How ah, how ah?’ I had to tickle him under the sheets to get him to relax because the stylist whispered to me, ‘Please help us — we want to go home leh.’”

“I don’t remember doing this shoot at all. I was just very tired during that whole period. I’m sure if you ask Fann, she won’t remember either. [8 DAYS stylist Fong-fan interjects: “I remember this shoot very clearly. You didn’t talk to each other at all. None of us knew if you guys were even going to turn up for the shoot because of the sensitive topic (the legendary Zoe-Fann rivalry).”] Is it? Yah lah, must ‘attitude’ a bit. I should’ve told Fann back then: “Eh, we plan — one of us shouldn’t turn up (laughs)!” (Issue 250, Jul 22, 1995)

The Mother of All Issues. Literally. Zoe and son Brayden's only cover shoot for 8 Days, which is also the only time the kid has been photographed for a story. Here the Ah Jie poses with other celeb mums Ivy Lee, Lisa Ang, May Phua, Vivian Lai and Evelyn Tan for a cover story for Issue 782, Sep 29, 2005.

Zoe made the cover of our 1000th issue along with Joanne Peh and former Ch 8 star Cherie Lim.
