YOUR BURNING QUESTION

Who's Playing Who In Crazy Rich Asians?

We can't wait to hear who Pierre Png and Fiona Xie are playing.

Constance Wu plays Rachel Chu, a Stanford-educated ABC accompanying her boyfriend Nick Young to Singapore only to realise how, um, crazy rich he and his family are. Constance., who stars in TV comedy Fresh Off the Boat, grabbed headlines last year when she slammed the producers of Hollywood movie The Great Wall for white-washing. Constance took to Twitter to express how the movie perpetuated “the racist myth that only a white man can save the world.” (In case you don’t remember, the film starred Matt Damon as a monster slayer in ancient China.) As for Crazy Rich Asians' own casting controversy - the half-white Henry Golding plays the Chinese Nick - Constance has remained silent.

Henry Golding is Nicholas 'Nick' Young, an attractive history professor living in New York City who just happens to be Asia's most eligible bachelor thanks to his extremely wealthy Singapore family. Prior to Crazy Rich Asians, The Brit-Malaysian Henry was best known for hosting ESPN’s Castrol Football Crazy and travel documentaries for Fox, National Geographic and NBC Universal. He is also married to fellow host Liv Lo.

Michelle Yeoh plays Eleanor Young, Nick’s kaypoh mother who disapproves of Rachel.

British actress Gemma Chan, who stars in sci-fi drama Humans, plays Astrid Leong, Nick’s cousin who’s known for her beauty and impeccable fashion sense. You can catch Gemma in the upcoming Transformers: the Last Knight

American rapper Nora Lum, better known by her stage name Awkwafina, portrays Goh Peik Lin aka Rachel’s kind, generous and wealthy Singaporean pal from Stanford who schools her in the ways of the rich and famous.

Aussie actor Christopher Pang plays Nick’s best friend Colin Khoo, whose much talked-about wedding to supermodel Araminta Lee is the reason Nick and Rachel are in Singapore. You might have seen Chris in last year’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny

Japanese-British model-actress Sonoya Mizuno plays Araminta Lee, Singapore's most celebrated fashion icon and whose father is one of China's richest men. Sonoya was last seen in the Oscar-winning La La Land

Will Pierre Png play Michael Teo, Astrid’s super good-looking husband, who struggles with keeping up with his wife's aristocratic family background?

Is Fiona Xie going to play sexy soap opera star Kitty Pong?

Which taitai will Tan Kheng Hua, who FYI played Pierre's wife in Phua Chu Kang years ago, play?

We think New York-based Malaysian comedian Ronny Chieng, who is a senior correspondent on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, will play Edison “Eddie” Cheng, Nick’s super spoilt and ill-tempered cousin.

We think Silicon Valley's Jimmy O. Yang will play tech billionaire and Astrid's former fiance, Charlie Wu. The actor recently appeared opposite Mark Wahlberg in Patriots Day.

This post will be updated when more casting news is announced.
