Silver Ang Loses 4kg In 2 Months On The Keto Diet... By Having Korean BBQ And Mookata

The 1.62m-tall actress sported a bulging tummy before she started her keto diet. Two months and a 4kg weight loss later, the 33-year-old actress now stands at a trimmer 58kg. And all she did was to indulge in sinful Thai mookata and Korean BBQ dinners. Wait, what?

8 DAYS: You are looking a lot slimmer these days. What did you do to lose weight?
SILVER ANG:
I’ve been pole-dancing for a year now, and I’d go for supper and eat whatever I wanted after my classes. Before I knew it, I gained weight and became quite bulky. At my heaviest, I was 62kg. Then, I went to a colleague’s wedding and saw [Tanglin co-star] Nat Ho. I hadn’t seen him for only two to three weeks, and he looked so much slimmer than when I last saw him. He told me that he was on the ketogenic diet and that he was also taking a keto supplement to aid in the weight loss, so I decided to try it out.

Tell us more about your keto diet.
I’ve been on the high-fat, moderate-protein and low-carb diet for two months. I also take a keto supplement which allows my body to go into ketosis faster, meaning that I get energy from burning fats, instead of glucose, in my body. I could see the difference in the size of my tummy and arms just after nine days. The best thing is that I don’t even feel like I’m on a diet! Basically, I just avoid the rice, noodles and desserts. If you eat fat, your body burns more fat. The amazing thing is that I’ve been eating like this yet I still lost weight and went from 62kg to 58kg in two months.

What do you eat?
In the past, I’d always look out for lean cuts of meat, such as chicken breast, but now, I can go to KFC and order a chicken thigh and eat it. I’ve been going for mookata meals as well as Korean barbecue and steamboat dinners. I don’t shun fats like bacon. I eat oyster omelette, salmon belly sashimi, avocado, chicken chop and a lot more. Sometimes, when I wake up, I’d just cook some shabu shabu meat that I bought from the supermarket.

This sounds too good to be true. Weren’t you skeptical at first? After all, we’ve been conditioned to understand that a high-fat diet leads to weight gain.
I was a little worried at first, but Nat reassured me that if I go on the diet and drink the supplement, it’ll be okay. So I trusted him and decided to give it a try.
