The cat is out of the bag: Bryan Wong’s telemovie The Playbook is headed for the big screen.

If you haven’t heard, Bryan was one of the six local actors (the others are Romeo Tan, Shane Pow, Priscelia Chan, Joanne Peh and Ian Fang) for his directorial debut, which was part of the Fresh Takes! initiative that Mediacorp started to promote new talent.

Before we forget to mention it, Bryan also forked out close to S$10,000 of his own money for things such as, we kid you not, a presidential suite at a swanky hotel for the project. After six days of filming and hours in the editing suite, a 47-minute version of The Playbook premiered on TV.

Soon after the telemovie was aired, Bryan felt it was too much of a pity to leave the extra footage he had shot buried for eternity. One thing led to another, and soon all hands were on deck to re-edit the footage they had for the big screen.
