Rui En Fined $700
Rui En pleads guilty and gets fined for careless driving.

Rui En was served a $700 fine after she pleaded guilty to one count of careless driving. She will not be disqualified from driving. On April 12 this year, the 35-year-old hit a stationary motorcycle at a Clementi open-air car park while driving her BMW. She could have been jailed for up to six months and/or fined up to S$1,000.
Speaking to the media after the sentencing, Rui En said: “I am actually very relieved... because I can finally put this down and let it go. I really hope to come back better, stronger and to give you guys a new Rui En.”
Her rep, Hype Records, also released a statement shortly after the sentencing, saying that Rui En “expresses regrets for the unfortunate incident”.
In the same statement, the actress said: “I will bear full responsibility for my mistake and be more cautious to prevent such incidents from happening again. I regret the inconveniences caused to everyone concerned, especially family and friends. Moving on, I hope I will have the space to improve. Thank you for the concern”. Rui En has said that she’ll be taking an indefinite break from showbiz following this incident.
