This time last month, Mark Lee was packing his bags for Taiwan to attend the Golden Horse Awards, where he was nominated in the Best Leading Actor category for his role in Singaporean comedy Number 1.
While he was in quarantine in Taipei, he told 8days.sg that he had a “small glimmer of hope” that he could return to Singapore with a shiny new trophy. The 51-year-old, who was serving his seven-day SHN when he spoke to 8days.sg over the phone last week, admitted: “It’s only natural to have expectations when you’re nominated for something. Even if the chances are slim, there’s always at least a 0.01% chance, and you should never give up when there’s hope.”
