During his listening party for his new album in October last year, the singer cried about really wanting to go home to Singapore, which of course was easier said than done no thanks to COVID-19.

Fortunately, JJ was able to make it back in time to spend Chinese New Year with his family (isn’t that pic with his grandparents just the cutest!?).

Aside from going cycling around town, he also took the opportunity to catch up with all his friends who are based here, such as Hong Junyang and Alaric Tay. Oh, and of course, not forgetting his dumpling making sesh with fellow Mandopop superstar Stefanie Sun.

Yasss, queens! It’s been five years since the Mediacorp drama aired, but it looks like its five kickass female leads — Jesseca Liu, Priscelia Chan, Apple Hong, Michelle Chia And Jayley Woo — continued to keep in touch outside of work (which is really lovely to see).

The quintet recently met up for a meal to celebrate Chinese New Year, as well as Jesseca’s 42nd birthday. Wonder what else they talked about.

Renovations for Hong Ling’s two-bedroom condo are finally complete and she’s been slowly showing off her new place bit by bit on her socials.

The latest area to be featured is her stunning walk-in wardrobe, which she said she’s always wanted and deliberately had done up in darker colours. Of course, the closet is stocked with clothes as well as loads of eye-catching designer arm candy. How much do you reckon everything in that wardrobe is worth?

It’s no secret that Fann is a pretty talented baker, but that gorgeous flower cake she made for Huifang is just too impressive (and Huifang reported that it tasted great too). So when’s she gonna look into opening her own patisserie?

Also getting the chance to feed her friends was Xiuhuan, who, like Fann, is pretty handy in the kitchen. The actress whipped up  plates of kway chap — with some help from Belinda Lee — that apparently tasted so good, everything was “completely wiped out”, as she happily reported. Hey, we’d like to Xiuhuan’s cooking one day, too!

Red packets aren’t just something you get from your married elders — you can exchange them with your BFF too!

At least, that’s what Fish and Yvonne did earlier this week, and they used some pretty cute envelopes: The one Yvonne got from Fish says “beautiful”, and the one Fish got from Yvonne roughly translates as “have people to love, have meat to eat”. How cute!

Chantalle has been getting a lot of rave reviews for her performance as a Vietnamese bride in the currently airing Mediacorp drama, and she has this lady, named Kim, to thank for helping her master her Vietnamese accent. The pair met up for a small CNY celebration as Kim could not return home to Vietnam ‘cos of COVID-19.

In her interview with 8days.sg, Chantalle revealed that she met Kim through her mum, veteran actress Lin Meijiao’s friend, and that she prepared for the show by listening to Kim read her character’s lines in Kim’s Vietnamese accent. All that hard work clearly paid off in the end as Chantalle has been lauded for her accurate portrayal.

Documenting her journey from kindergarten all the way to university with a bunch of throwback photos, Sharon thanked Mediacorp for giving her scholarships to study in four different cities (in Japan, Spain, and France), which she claimed she “would never be able to afford” on her own.

She also included a shout-out to her Singapore schools and thanked everyone who “nurtured me, gave me the confidence, and taught me values, core and ethics”.

With the Instagram handle “fungblackandwhite”, it’s no surprise that most of the actor-auteur’s pics are in, well, black and white. But this video of him killing it on the drums is so cool that we guess he decided to upload it in full colour.

The actress’ husband hurt his wrist recently and was scheduled to go for surgery on Saturday, and Nurul’s reaction is something that probably sounds familiar to those with typical Asian parents (or spouses): “Ahhhhh play bicycle some more laaaa (sic)”. So funny.

Ugh, these scammers just won’t give up, won’t they? The latest local celeb to fall victim to social media impersonators is the Last Madame star, who quickly warned his followers not to be deceived by fake accounts claiming to be him. Be careful out there and don’t be fooled, folks.
