Yup, you can now vote for your favourite radio programme for this year’s Star Awards. 

Dennis Chew (who’s named in two of the five nominations), made a post celebrating the newest award category, writing: “Thankful to Mediacorp for allowing radio to participate in this year’s Star Awards. Congrats to all my colleagues and friends who were nominated”.

It was a week full of celebrations for Thomas ‘Babyface' Ong (that’s what his cap says, after all), who turned 52 on February 1. 

And what better way to end the week of celebrations than a dinner with a “god and goddess”, aka Jesseca Liu and Jeremy Chan?

The dinner party, which was organised by a mutual friend, saw “support" from Carole and Vincent’s celeb friends, who’d ensured that they sat down to a dinner filled with delicious food. According to Carole’s caption, Vincent and Terence Cao had arranged for a dry mee siam delivery, while Thomas Ong helped with dessert, which came in the form of durian. Yum!

The singer made an appearance at fellow Singaporean singer Tanya Chua’s Kisses For The World concert at the Taipei Arena last Saturday (Jan 30), where they indulged in cake and of course, blessed the ears of everyone present with an amazing duet. We love.

Did we mention that Tanya was performing to a sold-out crowd? 

The 46-year-old has not held a concert since 2016 and tickets for her gig were snapped up in mere minutes when they were first released. And this is a huge concert venue we’re talking about ‘cos the Taipei Arena can comfortably seat 10,000 concertgoers.

Apart from feeling overjoyed at being able to stand on stage and perform live, it appeared that Tanya’s emotions got the better of her once the concert ended, with the singer sharing that she “burst into tears".

“I cried so badly, hugging all the staff members, who are filled with love, and had worked so hard, with all their heart. [I was] overwhelmed with so many emotions that I couldn’t keep settled in that moment,” she wrote.

“I hope that everyone was able to feel the love that we wanted to send to this world, and humanity. We’ve finally managed to kiss [a reference to the name of her concert]! No matter what the world’s like, we still have to persist in loving and protecting it,” she added.

You did well, Tanya!

By sprucing up the home of a colleague, which she documented in a very soothing video she uploaded on her Instagram recently. 

​​​​​​​And yes, (interior) design is her passion. After all, Jesseca studied interior design and did up an Airbnb apartment that she rents out in her Langkawi hometown.

As Xiuhuan shared in her caption, she’d taken part in an initiative spearheaded by the Teck Ghee Zone ‘J’ 326 Senior Citizens’ Club, "to help provide 60 low-income families and the elderly living alone with some New Year blessings”.

And who else did we spy apart from Xiu Huan in the pictures she’d uploaded? Why, two of her three daughters, and Xiu Huan’s husband, of course.

Which involves packing and delivering hundreds of care packages to the needy, as Malaysia extends it’s movement control order (MCO).

“All of us come from different fields, but we’re doing the same thing. The pandemic has affected us all, but there are some who are worse off. After doing this, our situations might not improve, but at least it’ll be better for some others. Let’s work hard, everyone,” Wenlong wrote in his caption. 

He’d previously shared that a number of local celebs, including Chen Hanwei, Christopher Lee, Shaun Chen, Desmond Tan, Jesseca Liu and Bonnie Loo had chipped in to help as well. Kudos to everyone!

The host shared the news in a post on Instagram earlier this week, revealing that he has since signed on with Michelle Chong’s agency, Left Profile.

"Eternally grateful for the opportunities it has given me to hone my hosting skills and most importantly, get to know all of you,” he wrote in his caption, before going on to share what he has up his sleeve next.
