The Asian Academy Creative Awards was held virtually on December 4, with Invisible Stories’ Yeo Yann Yann and Last Madame’s Lina Ng winning Best Actress in a Leading Role and Best Actress in a Supporting Role respectively.

Also bringing home trophies were Hirzi Zulkiflie, who was honoured with Best Comedy Performance for Comedy Central Stand Up Asia!, and Danny Yeo, who was crowned Best News or Current Affairs Presenter/Anchor for A Medical Journey. Although she didn’t win that Best Actress title this time, Rebecca Lim was an extremely good sport and congratulated Yann Yann and Lina.

Rui En joined Kym Ng in a game of table tennis for an episode of her new variety show Dare to Try, and the pair was also joined by former national player Yang Zi. We can’t wait to see who was the best player among them all that day.

Remember that time the internet suddenly started making a big deal out of JJ’s hair? Specifically, the fact that it has been styled the same way for a really long time (some even speculated it might be a wig)? Well, the Mandopop star finally decided to try something new and got some inspiration from DJ Steve Aoki, whom he collaborated with on his new track ‘Not Tonight’, and his trademark long tresses. And the result is… hmm. Think he could give 2000’s-era F4 a run for their money?

This makes it totally easy to believe Taiwanese star Kai Ko’s claim that nobody recognises him on the streets in Singapore (even before we all had to wear masks).

Earlier this week, Lawrence, who made it big — like, really big — after starring in Story of Yanxi Palace, shared this photo of himself taking the MRT in absolute peace while all the other passengers around him just minded their own business, seemingly unaware of the superstar in their midst. Perhaps it was the mask and cap? Or the fact that he seems to be adhering to Chow Yun Fat’s advice to Richie Jen about acting “natural” on public transport.

While Lawrence went unnoticed on home soil, the Ah Boys to Men star shared this super adorable experience he had with co-star Noah Yap while eating at a hawker centre in Penang in a pre-COVID time. In the clip, two little girls are seen hovering around the actors’ table, clearly keen to ask for a picture but also too shy to do so. After spotting them, Tosh takes initiative and offers to take a selfie in the end. So cute, right?

On Thursday, the actor shared that he suffered a lower back injury that was so bad, he couldn’t stand up or walk without help for a couple of days. He was also forced to halt preparations for his next TV gig, which resulted in huge changes in the schedule. Yikes.

“It wasn’t the best experience; a great lesson to understand the importance of health. We gotta seriously listen to our bodies and give them the rest they deserve. Rest when you can, treat now not then. (sic)” Sounds like good advice indeed. Wishing Desmond a speedy recovery!

Also needing some “get well soon” good vibes is Jamie’s three-year-old son Luke, who had to go for an operation on Wednesday for an unknown ailment that took an hour. Fortunately, she shared that the cause was “minor” — although it was still understandably “harrowing” for her and her husband — and the procedure appears to have been a success.

While the Class 95 jock reported that his older son with wife Jayne Tham, Liam, was “a little indifferent” upon meeting his new little brother Niall for the first time, Jayne recently gave an update on Instagram saying that Liam has since started to “adapt well” and “has been very caring” towards Niall. The toddler, who turns two next month, even comforts Niall when he cries like a loving older brother. Now isn’t that just so precious?

Feli and Jeffrey clearly can’t get enough of the Singapore Zoo. Just two months after they went there for Jeffrey’s birthday, the couple returned for another visit, and this time, they were joined by Feli’s mum.

While the Hongkong singer-actor refrained from holding a 100th day celebration for his daughter Sonya ‘cos he was concerned about keeping her safe during the pandemic, he decided to throw a party for her first birthday on Wednesday, while giving his followers a rare — albeit still partially covered — look at his baby girl’s face. It’s hard to see from the angle, but you can tell that she is definitely a cutie!

On Saturday, Shawn shared a photo of himself cradling his newborn baby girl, whom he said was actually born quite some time ago, but he decided to withhold the news until everything was in the clear and she was brought home safely. Congrats!

It’s nice to see that Ah Jie’s boys have inherited her love for animals. Instead of lazing around during the school holidays, her artistic son Ashton was encouraged by his mum to spend his time doing something charitable, so he handcrafted cute earrings to raise funds for animal shelters. According to Zoe, he managed to raise S$2,925. Not bad at all.

While some folks, such as Sharon Au, reportedly did not experience any discomfort while getting tested for COVID-19, the poor Ah Boys To Men actor certainly didn’t look like he was as lucky. “Damn ticklish sia,” he wrote. “I teared.” Well, it was a necessary evil since he was about to board a cruise ship for a staycation.

Dee absolutely killed it when she made a special guest appearance at Jolin’s recent concert, but it came with a price, namely, having to eat really meagre meals (presumably to stay in shape) and practising until her knees became red and sore.

“This is all for you,” Dee wrote in her caption, tagging Jolin’s account. Even though it was really Jolin’s tour and all, she was a really good sport and commented, “It was a great honour to be able to participate in the international superstar’s concert.”
