What he ate: Steamboat

Yummy factor: Although Mark, who is in Taipei for the upcoming Golden Horse Awards where he is nominated for Best Actor, is currently serving quarantine notice with his wife Cathering Ng, they still got to enjoy a hearty steamboat dinner thanks to their friends in Taiwan, who sent over everything from the crockery to the broth, ingredients and condiments. We bet Mark didn’t think he was going to be able to swish slices of marbled beef in bubbling soup whilst in quarantine!

What he ate: Otah buns 

Yummy factor: Otah buns are a hot favourite at the moment, and Shane jumped on the bandwagon with steamed bright green ones from online store, Soul Shiok. And in case you're wondering, these are mackerel fish fillets encased in pandan-flavoured buns, and just as fiery in terms of taste.

What they ate: Seafood feast

Yummy factor: The pals met up to celebrate Apple's birthday (Oct 31) and 10 years of friendship at Teochew restaurant Shao, where they indulged in specialties like BBQ crab (check out the roe!), sotong sausage, seafood pao fan, and, of course, lots of champagne and wine.

What she ate: Six-course degustation dinner

Yummy factor: Felicia and pal Chen Diya indulged in a six-course meal with wine pairing at the newly-opened Restaurant Euphoria. Safe to say, every creation —  including the signature Cévennes onion dish — was a sculptural work of art.

What they ate: Soufflé  pancakes

Yummy factor: Wobble wobble. The Muttons' could not get enough of Flipper's "crazy good" soufflé pancakes, which were so soft and fluffy, they felt like they were "eating a cloud". The Class 95 DJs were even mesmerised by how they were made.

What he ate: Korean BBQ

Yummy factor: Elvin patronised Korean BBQ resto Sindaebak and their K-pop star lookalike boss wasted no time in grilling up their bests meats for him. All Elvin had to do was nibble on banchan and wait for his barbecued meats to be served. Shiok or what?

What they ate: Fresh seafood 

Yummy factor: Allan and Michelle — who have been friends for at least two decades — checked out newly-opened resto Catfish together, and boy did the food look delish. From freshly-shucked oysters to squid noodle and chicken wing ramen topped with truffle and roasted cauliflower with pomegranate, the duo certainly got to have a long overdue catch-up while enjoying a well-considered menu. 

What she ate: Pastries

Yummy factor: Joanne got everyone on the set of Mind Jumper pastries from cafe For The People, and the selection of croissants, pain au chocolat, and more, look perfect for a quick mid-morning refuel. Also, it gives her more reason to snack, right?

What she ate: Devilish delights

Yummy factor: From fanged burgers and mummified sausages to thin-crust pizzas infested with “spiders” (don't worry, they're just olives), Yvonne got creative in coming up with these ghoulish treats for her Halloween-themed party with friends, including Fish Leong.

What she ate: Ban mian 

Yummy factor: For someone who loves noodles and spice, this bowl of ban mian probably hit the sweet (or should we say, spicy?) spot for Jade. Unlike the usual soupy version, the noddles are tossed in two types of chilli sauces for an amalgamation of flavours with every bite.  

What he ate: Chargrilled pork belly at ChaoTa Bar and Grill

Yummy factor: Look at how pleased Thomas is with his "belly good" and sizeable slab of grilled pork belly that lived up to the restaurant's name. It's perfect for meat lovers, along with an extra portion of rice.

What she ate: Peranakan eats

Yummy factor: Aww... Has it been a year already? Belinda celebrated her first wedding anniversary with hubby David Moore at Candlenut, where they indulged in their love for Peranakan food and desserts — all things colourful, decadent and intensely flavourful. 

What they ate: Seafood galore 

Yummy factor: Tiles War co-stars Lina and Irene may have met up at the latter’s Thai noodle bar Soi Candy, but their main focus was the fresh seafood offerings — think spicy stir-fried chut chut and juicy clams, as well as an extra side of fried chicken skin fried to a crisp. Yum!

What he ate: Koi jelly cake

Yummy factor: Nanxing began his birthday week with plenty of sweet treats in bite-sized portions, as well as an aesthetic jelly cake featuring a pair of life-like koi “swimming” in a pond. Does that make it a fish cake? Just joking.

What she ate: Old school cakes

Yummy factor: Rosalyn had a bite of nostalgia with her old school piped cream cake from Balmoral Bakery. Well, never mind that it got a little squished from an eventful cab ride — cake is still cake, and Rozz is still going to have them for breakfast.

What she ate: Nasi lemak 

Yummy factor: What's a cheat day if you don't have your favourite food? Xiuhuan chose her sin and had nasi lemak with omelette, ikan bilis, and  fried chicken at Thohirah Restaurant — she also made sure to go heavy with the sambal chilli for maximum indulgence.

What she ate: Hot stone ramen

Yummy factor: With the recent wet and gloomy weather, hot stone ramen topped with tender beef sukiyaki was probably an irresistible menu item for Seraph at Tonkotsu Kazan, along with a pint of beer. Aside from that, she also got to slurp up some spicy ramen and unagi with hot stone fried rice, as well as matcha ice cream served with azuki beans. Mmm...

Yummy factor: Now that it’s hairy crab season, Apple had to get her fill of them for her birthday (Oct 31). Her celebratory spread included steamed hairy crabs, sheng jian bao, plump dumplings, and more. Of course, there were plenty of wine and cake too!

​​​​​​​What she ate: Chicken burger and nuggets from Wildfire Chicken & Burgers

Yummy factor: Because a hungry lady is an angry one, Hazelle got started on her burger first. The new chicken burger with boneless chicken thigh sandwiched between buttered brioche and slathered with kimchi mayo is one of her favourites, even though it makes for a messy meal.

What he ate: Durian ondeh ondeh cake

Yummy factor: Pornsak literally had a sweet time trying out the mao shan wang ondeh ondeh cake by Ade’s Homebake, helmed by former hotel pastry chef Adeline Ng. He also got to snack on the ondeh ondeh popsicles (how cute and convenient!), as well as the yummy fruit tarts.
