On July 26, Finance Minister Lawrence Wong, who’s the co-chair of the multi-ministry COVID-19 task force, made a statement in Parliament announcing that Singapore might be able to “ease some of the Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) measures” in mid-August. A welcome announcement for all F&B establishments and businesses, we’re sure.

However, there were some caveats. According to the minister, it will only be extended to fully vaccinated individuals who are much better protected against the effects of the virus.

“People who want to dine in at a restaurant or exercise in a gym will have to be fully vaccinated,” he said.

After his statement, a number of celebs took to their social media to laud the announcement, including Cynthia Koh, and Class 95 DJs The Muttons, Justin Ang and Vernon A.
