It’s not every day that you play host to global stars, and local actress Constance Song agrees.

“Last weekend, a friend of BIGBANG called me to ask if I would be willing to open up the restaurant for dinner. It was a Sunday, and it’s usually our rest day, but I said yes without any hesitation,” she grinned as we chatted in the expanded unit of her restaurant, BAM!.

“Their friend requested for truffles to be added to the menu, so we sourced for them and BIGBANG enjoyed their omakase dinner very much,” the 41-year-old added. The group held their 2016 BIGBANG MADE [V.I.P] TOUR IN SINGAPORE last Sunday (October 2), and Constance’s Instagram snap with member Seungri had many wondering if the rest of the group had joined in too.

Well, we have the answer: yes, they did.

The stars picked a good timing to be in Singapore – Constance recently expanded BAM! and took over the unit next to hers to have more dining space. “We used to have tables lined up against the wall and the servers wouldn’t have space to walk sometimes – it was just too narrow! We were thinking about moving to a new location but it just so happened that the unit next door was available and we managed to retain our current location,” she explained.

The restaurant, which has a franchise in Indonesia, will also be expanding to Malaysia and India in the near future, shared Constance, who is in-charge of the marketing for BAM!. The S$400,000 initial investment which she, along with two other partners, sank in the establishment since it opened its doors over two years ago has been recovered too.

The busy bee, who will be in Penang by the time you read this, shared that she will be shuttling between Singapore and Penang for the next month or so as she films upcoming Dick Lee film Wonder Boy. In it, she will be playing Dick’s teenage self’s (played by Benjamin Kheng) mother.

The film is slated to premiere in the third quarter of 2017 and also stars Julie Tan, who recently returned home from acting school in New York.

Constance Song with Chef Pepe

Crediting her ability to juggle both her business and acting career to her partner and chef, Chef Pepe, Constance gushed, “He’s experienced when it comes to the restaurant business so he’s also able to handle the operations, staff and many other aspects of it. I give him a lot of freedom to do what he wants and I’m really thankful that we have him on board.”

After becoming the first artiste to be signed on to LNX Global (her current sole label mate is founder Li Nanxing), the Tanglin actress shares that Nanxing has given her advice on scripts she receives and has also given her tips on how to express her characters.

“We don’t really do long-term plans but instead focus on half-year intervals. I’m really happy with the offers that the company has lined up for me so far,” explained Constance, whose latest drama project is the currently-airing Channel 8 drama Fire Up!

While everything is going swimmingly for her in her career—both business and acting wise, the eligible bachelorette has shared that she is in no hurry to settle down yet.

“I don’t need anyone to introduce guys to me – I have too many to handle!” she quipped before continuing, “I think meeting the right person on my own is better than asking someone to introduce them to you. To me, such things are all up to fate.”
