Make-up junkies will know half the fun of buying cosmetics is going for the super pretty, super Insta-worthy packaging (c’mon, why else would you need 38 lipsticks?). And New York fashion designer Jill Stuart taps on that obsession with her eponymous beauty line, which she started in 2005 in Japan together with beauty giant Kosé.
So popular are her merch, she spawned a huge fan following called ‘Jill Girls’ who go gaga for the line’s pink, frilly, ethereal and very OTT packaging that is reminiscent of vintage glamour. If fairies used make-up, we imagine they’d go for this.
Good news: the brand recently launched in Singapore exclusively at Sephora Ion Orchard and on Sephora Singapore's e-store (www.sephora.sg). While the shop carries only a selected range, their best-sellers are all available including the Mix Blush Compact, Ribbon Couture Eyes eyeshadow palette and Lip Blossom lipstick.
Bad news: most items are already sold out at Sephora. Bummer. We did a check last Saturday (Apr 14) at Sephora Ion Orchard and discovered that hot favourites like the Loose Blush, Airy Tulle Lasting Loose Powder and Mix Blush Compact were out of stock in-store and online.
Take heart, though: if you reallyyy want that chio blush pot, you can head to e-retailers Lazada and Strawberrynet to get your paws on their Jill Stuart selection. The caveat? The goodies cost more than what you'd have paid at Sephora, and there are delivery fees. Or you can just make use of the waitlist function on Sephora's e-shop and get a notification e-mailed to you when the product you want is in stock.
Hey, beauty comes at a price, right?
