There are all-you-can-eat buffets and all-you-can-exercise gym memberships, and now, there's an aesthetics membership where you can get as many facials as you want in a month. Why not? After years of providing facials and clinical skincare solutions, IDS Aesthetics has launched their #IDServe Unlimited membership packages (I deserve, geddit?), where facial aficionados (afacialnados?) can pop in as many times as they want to get treatments for a plethora of skincare concerns.

There are two packages – the Unlimited and Unlimited+. The first costs $450 a month for 12 months and lets you earn one additional month of free facials if you refer a friend. The second is $720 a month for 12 months, and gives you three extra sessions to share with up to three of your guests each month. Members also get benefits like 15 per cent off IDS Skincare products.

So we guess the big question here is: Is this membership worth it? Experts recommend a professional facial once a month, as skin cell turnover cycle is 28 days. Is it advisable to do more than one facial a month? Personally, we've had facials two weeks in a row with no adverse consequences, though effects vary with each person, and of course, with the type of treatment done.

Facials at IDS range from $160 for the Dual Lift Eyes treatment (which is the cheapest on the menu; the 35 min treatment helps to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by plumping and rehydrating the eye area) to $430 for the Instant Power Lift and Glow (this 50 min treatment firms and lifts sagging skin, and restores it by deep cleansing, oxygenating, firming, smoothing, and moisturising with the use of oxygen and active vitamin serums). Other popular treatments are the Dual Lift Treatment ($280, 45mins, firms and tightens the skin using radio frequency waves to stimulate collagen regeneration to give a V-shaped face) and the Light Cryo Treatment ($280 for 50 mins, to lighten dark spots and hyperpigmentation and brighten skin).

Looking at these prices, if you go for the $430 Instant Power Lift and Glow just once a month, it already makes your membership fee of $450 worth it, if you slip in an additional facial or eye treatment every two to three weeks, or make up the difference by buying products at a 15 per cent discount. Of course, there's nothing stopping you from scheduling a facial every week, if you're damn free and your skin can take it, or, more realistically, every two weeks, to make your membership worth every cent.

The aesthetics consultants at IDS will make sure it's all safe, of course, and that you are not over-facialing and doing more harm than good to your skin. As for the $720 a month Unlimited+ membership, the key, we guess, is that you have three extra sessions to share with up to three pals. This means you can technically share the cost among four people, with each paying just $180 a month to get one facial each that's worth much more than $180. Time to start rounding up your facial addict BFFs!

At the end of the day, whether this membership is worth it depends on how much you enjoy facials, whether you have the time to make it to IDS and lie in a therapist's bed for about an hour multiple times a week, your skincare concerns and your skin type. If you can afford it, it becomes a great way for you to make sure your skin gets the professional TLC it deserves.
