You Can Now Book A Singapore Airlines-Themed Cruise And Pay With KrisFlyer Miles
How many KrisFlyer miles do you need? What else should you know before redeeming your miles?
Don’t know what to do with all those KrisFlyer miles sitting dormant in your account the past one-and-a-half years that leisure travel has been on hold?
Well, now you can use your KrisFlyer miles to redeem a Singapore Airlines-themed two-night cruise to nowhere from Nov 17 to 19 on Dream Cruises’ World Dream. This is a chartered cruise for KrisFlyer members only.
Here’s how many miles you’ll need to go on the cruise:
38,000 KrisFlyer miles: 1 pax in a Balcony Stateroom (below)
50,000 KrisFlyer miles: 2 pax in a Balcony Stateroom
75,000 KrisFlyer miles: 3 pax in a Balcony Stateroom
120,000 KrisFlyer miles: 2 pax in a Palace Suite
240,000 KrisFlyer miles: 4 pax in a Palace Suite
You can redeem multiple cruise tickets, as long as you have enough miles in your account, as the experience can only be redeemed in full using KrisFlyer miles. In other words, no topping up with cash if you don’t have enough miles, okay?
All redemptions are non-refundable, and a fee of $30 will be incurred for any changes in passenger names after tickets have been issued.
Given the volatility of the pandemic situation, what happens if the cruise can’t take place on Nov 17-19? It will be postponed to a later date, and folks who can’t make it on the new date will have their miles refunded.
Do you have to be vaccinated to go on the cruise?
Prevailing government regulations apply, and currently, no, you do not have to be vaccinated to go on board. However, you will need to test negative in your pre-departure Covid-19 test to be able to board.
What to expect on the Singapore Airlines chartered World Dream cruise:
There’s a plethora of Singapore Airlines experiences, which may not make you feel like you’re on an actual plane, but it’ll bring back memories of flying with SQ.
It begins from pre-boarding with photo opps with SIA cabin crew. During boarding, members will get to savour SIA’s signature satay and receive welcome packs that include SIA’s First Class or Business Class amenity kits and sleeper suits, among other limited-edition souvenirs.
Once onboard, there are grooming workshops helmed by SIA cabin crew trainers, so you can learn how to apply make-up, craft a perfect Singapore Girl chignon and master the perfect grooming etiquette like a bona fide cabin crew. An additional fee applies for this workshop (prices TBC) and it includes a goodie bag as well.
Other activities include free batik rose making and balloon sculpting workshops and games where you can attempt to win KrisPay miles and KrisFlyer merch.
The chartered cruise is also taking place during World Dream’s festive programming, which means the vessel will be decked out according to its Nordic Christmas theme this year, and there’ll be a Nordic Village, Santa Express and even a Christmas market to enjoy.
Folks who book the Palace Suites will also enjoy perks like priority boarding, dedicated 24-hour butler concierge service, private spa and gym and more.
Don’t fret about not being able to IG-story your entire sea-cation ’cos there’s free wi-fi for KrisFlyer members onboard.
