Nicholas Tse’s Favourite HK Food Spots Include Restaurant With Only 7 Google Reviews & A Popular Dessert Chain

If you’ve ever wondered where celebs eat in Hong Kong, here’s a little insight from Nicholas Tse.
The 44-year-old star is also more recently known as a celeb chef, and helms long-running food travelogue Chef Nic. So where do folks like Chef Nic eat?
Well, bookmark this for your next Hong Kong trip — he’s just revealed over 30 of his favourite go-to eateries in Hong Kong, and it's all conveniently saved and shared on Google Maps.
Going through Nic’s list of 31 eateries will whet your appetite, regardless of your budget or tastebuds. The diverse range of restaurants runs the gamut from cheap and cheerful dessert chains and humble cha chaan tengs to Michelin-starred restaurants and hip restos serving fusion fare.
There are surprisignly quite a number of affordable options. Seven of 31 eateries fall within the under-HK$100 (S$17) price range; five are in the HK$100-$200 (S$17-$34) category. Fancy indulging a little? There are 17 restaurants that belong to the HK$500 (S$86) and above price range.

With just seven Google reviews, one could argue that Kiu’s Kitchen in Wan Chai is a veritable hidden gem (well, not anymore). Nic says his go-to dishes here are "grilled pork chop rice with fried egg" and "soul-stirring char siu rice, both packed with intense wok hei.”
Wallet-friendly HK comfort food from cha chaan tengs made the list too. You may find the star in the unassuming Kam Fung Restaurant in Wan Chai, enjoying “chicken pie, pineapple bun, and iced milk tea — my delicious guilty pleasure”, he says.
For a comforting meal, he turns to My Cup of Tea in Wan Chai. Here, he orders the “bold and rich” HK-style milk tea and “crispy and creamy” corned beef and scrambled egg sandwich. Popular chain After You Dessert Cafe's made the cut too ("the shaved ice is truly unique").
Of course, it would be remiss to miss out on Michelin-recommended restaurants in a city like Hong Kong. Crowd favourite Yat Lok Restaurant in Central makes the list for what he calls the “mouthwatering delight that’s best enjoyed fresh in-house”.
