There’s A New Ferry Service That’ll Take You From S’pore To Desaru In 90 Mins, Launching Jul 7
A new option for a quick getaway or even a day trip to Desaru from Singapore.
Going to Desaru in Johor for a quick getaway or even a day trip will be much easier soon — a new ferry service between Singapore and Desaru will kick off operations on Jul 7.
The voyage will take about 90 minutes each way, and the ferry will take a direct route connecting Singapore’s Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal with the Desaru Coast Ferry Terminal. This will make the journey between Singapore and the Malaysian seafront holiday town more convenient. Previously, travellers would have to take a ferry from Singapore to Kota Tinggi then drive about 45 minutes to Desaru.
What we do know so far: There will be one round trip service from Thursday to Sunday in the initial months of operations, with each ferry accommodating up to 330 passengers each time. The frequency of services and capacity of ferries will scale as demand increases, according to a joint statement by the newly-launched Desaru Coast resort and appointed ferry operator Batam Fast.
The ferry service will also give travellers from Singapore convenient access to Desaru Coast, whether it’s a day trip to go golfing or a day out at the Adventure Waterpark (above), or a stay at one of the four resorts there. Desaru Coast has plans to roll out special packages for hotel stays and golf play, as well as stay promos that include ferry tickets if customers book directly from Desaru Coast — prices and more information will be made available on June 30 on their website.
