Long, long queues
At around 11am today, epically long queues started forming at the Johor Bahru customs checkpoint. The lines were so long that they spilled out of the checkpoint building and onto the pavement beside the bus lane.

“Half an hour to walk a few steps”
Facebook user Lim Tuckkeong, who was one of those stuck in the human jam, shared photos of the queue, quipping: “Half an hour to walk a few steps. Too thrilling.”

Netizen Yanie Ali reached the JB checkpoint at 11.50am, where there was already a large crowd standing shoulder to shoulder. “Whatever you do, please don’t fart,” joked a commenter.

This writer’s friends reported that they managed to get through both checkpoints in Singapore and Malaysia within 15 minutes at 3pm by using the new automated e-gate clearance system. Good luck to those who are still planning to do a JB trip this weekend.
