48 Hours In Penang: Where To Eat, Play And Stay For A 2D1N Trip

There are only four long weekends in 2019 (dang). If you can never seem to scrape together enough annual leave days for a holiday, you can still do a weekend trip jam-packed with fun activities to curb that #wanderlust.

We didn’t personally think we could get anything done on a weekend beyond a Johor Bahru jaunt, until 8 DAYS was invited by budget carrier AirAsia on a trip to Penang to launch their cheeky Holiday Quickies campaign (we were given ‘glow job’ sheet masks and ‘morning after pill’ mints on the trip).

To kickstart things, AirAsia is offering 1.9million promo seats, as well as all-in member-only fares from $50 for a one-way ticket to all of the destinations in their network. This includes 17 of the airline’s highlighted short-haul destinations, all of which are just a 55 minutes to four-hour flight away from Singapore. Other than the usual suspects like Bangkok, Phuket and Bali, there are also less-visited spots like Bandung, Cebu and Miri, Sarawak for folks looking to explore somewhere new.

Our trip felt far longer than 2D1N, if only because our itinerary was crammed with so many things to do and good food to eat. Read on to find out how you can make your weekend holiday count.
