Circuit Breaker extended for four more weeks? Keep calm and buy chio face masks — you're gonna need them. Regional fast fashion label Pomelo has put its resources to good use — by producing anti-bacterial reusable face masks with the fabrics used to make their apparel. The masks are three for $9, and all proceeds go to partner healthcare organisations in Thailand, Indonesia and Singapore to purchase medical supplies to fight Covid-19. You can also choose to donate a pack of 15 surgical masks for $9 to a hospital in need, or donate funds via the Pomelo app or website. In Singapore, the funds will go to the Red Cross Society.
These are part of the Pomelo Cares initiative to support the community and frontline medical sector. If you purchase the fabric masks, they come in a pack of three, in three sweet colours — pink, grey and white — and are washable and reusable for up to 10 washes. The cotton masks are made of anti-bacterial quick dry fabric, and are certified by Oeko-Tex, the globally recognized and trusted testing system for ecologically safe textiles. It's recommended to wash the masks after every use.
There's also a social campaign called #PomeloGirlsAtHome on Instagram, to educate consumers on social responsibility and spread positivity, and encourage their community to practise social distancing and stay at home.
Purchase masks and donate here.
