What To Expect At Beatrice Tan's Cool New Klarra Store At Raffles City

The Klarra girlboss shows us around her first permanent store, and it's a beauty.

Four years after its online launch and a year-and-a-half after a three-month-long bricks-and-mortar pop-up stint at Capitol Piazza, local fashion label Klarra finally has a permanent home, at a prime location at Raffles City. When you step off the third floor escalator, the minimalist white interiors of the boutique, with its brushed gold logo and brass racks, greet you, softly and gently luring you into its chic confines.

Beatrice Tan, blogshop model-turned-fashion entrepreneur and style influencer, and the founder and creative director of Klarra, tells 8 DAYS that the shop was designed to be like the Klarra woman — "She has a quiet confidence and is classy and elegant, and that is reflected in the clean lines and curves of the store. It's a calming, uncluttered space. The Klarra woman just stands there and is quietly confident. There is no need to shout, and she has her own unique appeal."

To bring her vision to life, she engaged husband-and-wife design team Bella Koh (aka lifestyle influencer @catslavery) and Terence Yeung of The Slowhouse, who brought their minimalist style, neutral colour palette and focus on conscious living to Klarra's first standalone flagship store.

A special tea blend called The Gentlewoman and a perfume mist called The Pursuit, both created specially for Klarra, rounds off a shopping experience which should be calm, unhurried and classy yet accessible, much like the clothes on the brass racks of the store.
