This Week’s Best-Dressed Local Stars: May 9-16
The most stylish celeb OOTDs of the week.

Is it just us, or are the stars making an effort to dress better at home? Bonnie Loo or Joanne Peh went for girly frocks, Fiona Xie and Hazelle Teo played it sexy, and Jasmine Sokko got creative and fashioned an edgy top out of an old pair of pants.

Bonnie Loo
On our shopping list right now: This multi-pattern frock from Seoul & Lux. Not only is it easy to wear, the clashing patterns make it a great conversation starter piece.

Jasmine Sokko
The lockdown life has gotten Jasmine crafty. The singer-songwriter repurposed a pair of old pants into this structured top that looks chic, sexy and very designer-ish. We want a piece of it too!

Fiona Xie
Loungewear has come a long way and these days, a thoughtfully designed set can bring you from boudoir to bar (well, after the CB ends). Fiona’s loungewear is by Everafter and they look great when worn together. Alternatively, you can also wear them separately if you don’t fancy a full-on floral look.

Chen Xiuhuan
This Mother’s Day was especially memorable for Xiuhuan because her daughters prepared a surprise celebration for her at home. Together with her hubby, Xiuhuan dressed up in matching "wedding" outfits. We love Xiuhuan’s goddess-like dress that has sheer and lace details, striking a balance between sexy and feminine.

Chantalle Ng
Dresses don’t necessarily have to look all feminine. The monochrome track jacket and matching kicks on Chantalle added a touch of sporty appeal to her OOTD.

Julie Tan
Since we can’t meet our girlfriends for brunch now, we can hold themed Zoom parties instead. Julie’s straight-out-of-shower look here is a great look to try; pile on some jewellery for a dramatic effect, and put on a pair of gigantic shades so that you can skip makeup for the call.

Tay Kewei
Kewei isn’t short of stylish maternity wear. We’re guessing the fashion-loving mum is longing for a holiday, sporting a summer shirt, figure-hugging skirt and flamingo earrings that make one of the best ensembles to pack for a beach vacay.

Hazelle Teo
Things are getting hot this stay-home season! For the #StayHomePhotoChallenge, the YES 933 DJ posted these photos of herself in a dungaree with nothing underneath. Something tells us she slayed the competition.

Dick Lee
Dick’s #VeryVersace outfit is what we need at the end of a dreary week… the combination of eye-catching colours and mismatched prints did wonders to lighten our mood.

Xiang Yun
How many of us can still fit into an old dress lying at the deep ends of our wardrobes? Ah Jie Xiang Yun — who recently lost 8kg — was elated to find out that she can still fit into the polka dot dress from 10 years ago. And boy, she still looks so fabulous!

Joanne Peh
Summer dresses don’t need to look all bright and bold. Joanne’s strappy number is a toned down version, sporting palm leaf prints that put us in a vacay mood.

Yasminne Cheng
In her Instagram caption, Yasminne joked about how her oversized shirt dress made her look like she belonged to a Chinese opera troupe. But we think it’s in fact a very stylish option during these stay-home days. The deconstructed bat sleeves and relaxed silhouette offer plenty of space to move, dance or just lie on a spot comfortably.

Tracy Phillips
Not one to shy away from bold fashion choices, Tracy put on a pair of neon pink palazzo pants and a multi-coloured bodysuit just 'cos she felt like dressing up. We dare you to try this bold combination at home!

Ferlyn Wong
Ferlyn got all glammed up for a casting video call this week, donning a screen siren-worthy getup. Her body-hugging number features glittery details that make it the perfect dancefloor-ready dress to party in when life gets back to normal.

Cheryl Wee
Just how many Our Second Nature pieces does Cheryl own? We love this dress from the local label’s new Liberty collection for the pretty and timeless floral embroidery and roomy A-line silhouette. Perfect for working from home in.

Mei Xin
Mei Xin is one of the many stars supporting local brands during this difficult period, sporting a sexy slip dress by Klarra. Its rose pink hue looks ultra-feminine while the slim silhouette spotlights all the right body parts.

Rebecca Lim
Are you a fan of slogan tops, especially those with inspiring words? Becks’ white tee from acrtor-singer Desmond Ng's new streetwear label is a great reminder to all of us that we should embrace imperfection instead of trying hard to hide it from others.

You Yi
Bold colours can be a risky fashion move because you don’t want to look like a traffic light or Christmas tree. So, here’s a smart way of incorporating them into your outfit — pick one brightly lit item (like the traffic stopping tote on You Yi here) and keep the rest of your ensemble pared-down.

Gayle Nerva
If you’re sick of wearing activewear (or just too lazy to change into them) for your home yoga sesh, why not just work out in regular clothes? Gayle showed us how a cropped top and denim shorts can make your yoga shot look Insta-worthy.

Kelly Poon
We’re loving the exaggerated sleeves on Kelly’s blouse which adds drama to her Zoom meetings-friendly outfit here.
