These Chinese New Year Cheongsams From The Missing Piece Are Already Sold Out

We know CNY is early this year (Jan 25), and popular local cheongsam label The Missing Piece's lunar new year cheongsams have always sold like hotcakes, but to have several designs sold out by mid-November? That's a little crazy, even for a cult brand famed for its signature cut-out styles. The Missing Piece, which only started at the end of 2016, launched CNY 2020: Flight of Fancy at this year's Boutique Fair 2019. On media and partners preview day, Nov 14, the queue from their booth snaked past several of their neighbours' booths, and they ran out of paper bags. By the time the actual fair opened to the public on Nov 15, stocks for the most popular pieces were running dangerously low. And by the end of the three-day fair, at least six styles were completely sold out, including the Charlotte Cheongsam in blue and red and the Limoncello Convertible Signature, a clever two-piece set that can be worn a few different ways.
