Review: Can This Wearable Air-Con Really Cool You Down? We Tried The Sony Reon Pocket 5 & Here’s How It Went

The Reon Pocket 5 isn’t just a wearable air-conditioner — it works as a warming device too.

As temperatures climb over the years, especially in hot and humid Singapore, the number of ways we’ve learnt to deal with the heat has increased too, including neck fansportable aircons and standing fans.

And now, a wearable pocket air-conditioner by Sony, it seems.

Yes, this little innovation that looks like a mouse is Sony’s Reon Pocket 5 (available here and here), a wearable cooling and warming device (yes, it does both), controlled by an app and adjusts according to your preferences and body temperature.

At $249 a pop, the device is on the pricey side, but don't write it off just yet. I tested the Reon Pocket 5 for a week, and learned that this isn’t a regular portable fan, nor does the it function like one.
