Singaporeans and Singapore brands have been stepping up to help the most vulnerable members of our society, who are suffering as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. As we speak, money is being raised by different organisations and charities to help myriad needy groups, from low-income families and vulnerable seniors to migrant workers. The latter has been especially affected by the virus, as the number of low-wage workers infected by Covid-19 continues to rise, and their less-than-ideal living conditions and plight are exposed.

Over at local fashion label Ong Shunmugam, designer Priscilla Shunmugam has pledged $10,000 from her reserves to support those making a long-term difference to the living and working conditions of these workers. Additionally, she has put her high-end tableware collection, named Suvarnabumi, on sale, with everything at 25 per cent off. All profits from the sale will go to HealthServe, an NGO which serves the migrant community through their medical clinics, casework, social assistance, advocacy, education and outreach programmes.

Shop Ong Shunmugam's Suvarnabumi tableware collection at 25 per cent off, with all profits going to an NGO which aids migrant workers.

The sale is on till April 24, and the brand urges you to "elevate every single meal at home or gift someone the Ong Shunmugam touch." The collection "breaks down the Ong Shunmugam codes to bring eccentric, beautiful and contemplative homeware to life." FYI, a big plate costs $149, which means it will be $111.75 after the discount. Shown in the main pic on top is the Slow Loris Main Plate ($149). Side plates are $59, and two rice bowls go for $99.
