I Got These Headphone Bands For Sleeping Under $30 And Now I Use It Every Night To Help With My Insomnia

I'm not just an insomniac, I'm an overachiever in sleeplessness. It’s nothing to brag about – every minute past my bedtime that I’m awake just adds to my existential dread so it’s no surprise that one of my resolutions this year is to sleep well.

To do that, I’m aware of changing certain habits like not doom-scrolling on the phone before bed or drinking caffeine too late in the day. But having an arsenal of aids that help you go to sleep has been pretty useful as well.

Enter the Musicozy Bluetooth Headband, a snug cocoon for my troubled sleepless mind.

First impressions

Think of it as your regular exercise headband but a little thicker – a lot more value-added too. It’s made from a cooling and moisture-wicking material so it’s comfortable even on the balmiest nights – plus it’s machine-washable too (you just have to remove the electrical components). It has a bit of stretch as well so if you have an unusually big head (like me), you don’t feel any discomfort.

Total blackout

A dark room is the ideal environment for a restful sleep and this band which also acts like an eye mask helps with setting that up. These come in several colours and are good for blocking light out when it’s time to sleep.

Night time lullabies

One of the headband's notable features is its wireless Bluetooth technology, allowing you to seamlessly sync your favourite melodies, podcasts, or calming white noise without the entanglement of cords. The headphones embedded in the band are also adjustable and can be positioned to whatever is comfortable for you.

Audio-wise, don’t expect anything too high quality though – and it’s not noise-cancelling. I use it usually to listen to white noise and nature sounds to help me lull me to sleep.

I also read reviews that people use it as an exercise headband/headphones but for all intents and purposes I won’t be using it as workout headphones cos I’m not keen on others being able to hear my trashy playlist.

Battery life

With one charge, the headbands can last more than 10 hours. The charging point is also hidden in the padded band.

Final takeaways

The first few nights felt weird because I never slept with anything around my head. Plus the main electrical compartment is located right in the front so that felt really foreign for the first couple of nights.

I toss and turn quite a bit in my sleep as well so the headphones bit would shift around a lot. I never had an issue with overheating though which is good. After implementing somewhat of a sleeping routine, I actually started enjoying sleeping with the headbands and I realised I tossed and turned a lot less as well
