And yes, the boxes have resurfaced on Carousell.

Like with other highly-anticipated Ikea collabs, like the furniture collection with Off-White’s Virgil Abloh, and the candle collection with Byredo, the collaboration with Lego, which features storage boxes with Lego studs on the lids and sides, on which you can build your own Lego masterpieces, has fans queuing outside Ikea stores on launch day, waiting to snap up products.

All the items in the highly-anticipated Ikea Lego BYGGLEK collection.

The boxes launched in Ikea Alexandra and Tampines today (Feb 18), and reports of folks buying up many boxes have surfaced on social media, despite the fact that there is a limit of three pieces per article per customer.

The collection features different-sized boxes that can be used for storage and play.

There are four SKUs in the BYGGLEK collection — a Lego box with lid that is 35x26x12 cm ($24.90), a smaller Lego box with lid that 26x18x12 cm ($19.90), a set of three small boxes that is $19.90, and a special 201-piece set of Lego bricks exclusive to Ikea ($24.90) that includes play starters like food items and mini figurines.

Last 8days.sg checked, the items are all still available in both stores, and there seems to be sufficient stock for fans, as the online launch is not till Feb 25.

Still, that’s not stopped some opportunists from trying to sell the boxes and sets on Carousell. There’s someone trying to scalp the big box, which costs $24.90, for $35, and the Lego bricks set, which is also $24.90, for $35. That might appeal to those who don’t want to schlep down to an Ikea store to buy the collection, yet don’t want to wait till the online launch on Feb 25. Some sets are also being sold on Carousell at the same price as what they’re going for at Ikea, and that might be because some shoppers might have bought more than they wanted while trying to get the free gift with purchase of at least $50 worth of BYGGLEK products, which is the LEGO 30359 City Police Water Plane. It’s valid for the first 200 customers per store, and has been fully redeemed. We checked and that set is available on Shopee for about $11.

Storage boxes with the idea of play built in - fun!

From latest updates at press time, the BYGGLEK collection is still in plentiful stock at Ikea stores. You still have every chance to buy these storage solutions, which has fun and the idea of play built in, and can be used to store Lego pieces, or anything else.

Your imagination - not Carousell - is the limit.
