TikToker Goes Viral For Buying “Strangest Coffee Table Book” — And 12 Popular & Giftable Coffee Table Books To Buy Instead

Coffee table books have been growing in popularity among homeowners. Not only do they make great display pieces, they also inject a dash of your personality and colour in your home.

But let’s face it: Most of the time we’re buying coffee table books based on their covers, even if we may have an interest or personal connection to the subject matter (scroll on to see what other homeowners are buying).

Take TikToker Mikayla (@mikk022), for instance. She recently bought a coffee table book titled Palm Beach: The Coffee Table Book and called it the “strangest coffee table book” in her post. With 474K views and counting, her video of the bubblegum pink book that “matches the aesthetic of [her] apartment” has gone viral.

It turns out that the coffee table book “is almost 500 pages of just the words ‘Coffee Table Art’ in different fonts”. Yes, really. The viral TikTok drew a flurry of comments, including: “This is honestly something they would sell in a museum shop as ironic”. Touché. To be fair, though, on the Amazon listing, the book's description is seemingly offbeat (it's described as one that “highlights a different type font and styling”). “I knew it had different fonts, but plenty of books do,” Mikayla said in response to a comment.

Still, everyone, including Mikayla herself, could see the humour and make the best out of this situation. Most commenters told her to keep it, and some even suggested that she could turn it into a scrapbook or get guests to draw in it.

The seller has numerous versions for different cities and countries, including one of Singapore.

If Mikayla does decide to get a replacement, this (legit) Palm Beach coffee table book that’s part of luxury brand Assouline’s travel series could be an option.
