Aaron Carter says his "mental stability" is "infinite".

The 'I Want Candy' hitmaker had police visit his home earlier this month when his family members called for a wellness check as they feared for the star's mental health.

But he has now insisted he's completely fine, as he says he's already been through "so many" mentally taxing problems in his life.

Speaking to TMZ, he said: "On a scale of one to 10, what's my mental stability? 100,000. Infinite! Because throughout my 20s I went through bankruptcy, I went through being broke four times, I went through losing my sister, I went through so many different mental ... and now [I'm on the other side of that]."

Police were called to Aaron's home on August 8 after family members believed his mental health was suffering, but after officers completed a wellness check, sources confirmed the call was a "false alarm".

An insider said at the time: "He is not suicidal. He was basically swatted - this was a false alarm. He has been working a lot and busy."

The police visit came just days after the 31-year-old singer confirmed his split from girlfriend Lina Valentina, but the insider insists he's "fine" in the aftermath of the break-up.

They added: "He initiated it, and she was upset about it. He bought a house and they were planning for the future, but he realised it wasn't a healthy relationship and ended it."

Aaron split from Lina at the beginning of this month, and announced the news on Instagram where he said their romance had "eventually turned unhealthy".

He wrote: "Lina and I have decided to go our separate ways. I was really hoping this would be the one that lasted forever. We had even talked about having kids, but we couldn't seem to get past our differences and the relationship eventually turned unhealthy. I've been through so much the past few years and am trying to learn from my mistakes. I don't have any regrets being with Lina, and I definitely learned a lot about myself. I think this decision was the mature thing to do. I'm going to keep focusing on my music, my tour and my fans. Hopefully my soulmate is out there somewhere and I'll meet her soon."
