Excitement builds for Big Hit boy group TXT’s debut
BTS’s juniors’ debut album surpassed 100,000 pre-orders in just three days
New boy group TXT haven't even made their official debut yet, but they have already begun racking up some impressive achievements.
Today (Feb 22), South Korean media reported that pre-orders for the quintet’s debut album, titled The Dream Chapter: STAR, exceeded the 100,000 mark in just three days. The data comes from album distributor iriver, which reportedly recorded 104,385 pre-orders from February 19, 11am KST, until February 22, 10am KST.
The report noted that it is highly unusual for newcomers, especially those that have yet to make their debut, to accomplish such a feat.
Their label Bit Hit Entertainment also released the track list for The Dream Chapter: STAR on February 22 at 12 midnight KST. The album contains five songs - ‘Blue Orangeade’, ‘CROWN’, ‘Our Summer’, ‘Cat & Dog’, and ‘Star’s Nap’ (direct translation) - and will be released on March 4 at 6pm KST.
In addition to the album release, TXT will also greet fans with their first performance on Mnet’s Debut Celebration Show on March 4, followed by a debut showcase the next day at the Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul.
TXT, which stands for Tomorrow X Together (the “X” is read as “by”), consists of members Taehyun, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Hueningkai, and Soobin. They are the first idol group to debut under Big Hit Entertainment since Hallyu super-group BTS, who hit the scene in 2013.
