Zong Zijie Sold Prepaid Handphone SIM Cards Next To A Brothel In Geylang When He Was A Teenager
To all the parents reading this, next time your kids tell you they want to start working to earn some money, please ask them where the exact location of their new workplace is.
Recently, NoonTalk Media actor Zong Zijie spoke to Taiwanese media about his new horror movie The Chosen One. The movie features a lot of scenes set in the red-light district.
The Singaporean production, which also stars Taiwanese actress Yao Yao, 34, — yes, this is the film that sparked dating rumours between Zijie and Yao Yao — will premiere in Taiwan on Sep 20.
Zijie, 28, revealed that when he was much younger, he actually worked in Singapore's red-light district Geylang.
No, it's not what you think.
Zijie sold handphone prepaid cards at a shop there for four years to earn some extra pocket money.
"The place I was selling cards at was right next to a brothel and the prostitutes would sit outside looking for customers," he recalled.
Some of them also had their eyes on Zijie.
"They would ask if I wanted to patronise them after I end work. Of course I didn't. I was still underage at that time. It would be a crime!" he said, adding that those experiences were "quite interesting".
We can only imagine just how many 'invitations' a good-looking guy like Zijie must have received throughout his four years there.
