Zhu Houren’s Director Son Gets Married, Actor Could Only Invite 10 Of His Friends To The Wedding 'Cos Of COVID-19 Regulations
So who made the cut?
Zhu Houren’s older son, director Jonathan Choo, 32, got married last weekend and the 66-year-old veteran actor shared in an Instagram post that he was unable to invite all of his relatives and good friends to the wedding, which was capped at 100 guests, due to COVID -19 regulations.
In fact, Houren could only invite 10 people so he decided that only those who both he and Jonathan are acquainted with would make the cut.
In an interview with Lianhe Zaobao, Houren said: "I have many friends and would have liked to invite others such as Xiang Yun, Wang Yuqing, Zheng Geping and Hong Huifang, but the plan was disrupted by the pandemic.”

In the end, Houren’s invites were given out to Chew Chor Meng and his wife, as well as Aileen Tan and her director husband, Gerald Lee.
Veteran actors Richard Low and Vincent Tee made the cut too.
According to Houren, Chor Meng is “an old friend”, while Aileen and her husband watched Jonathan and his younger son Joel Choo, 26, grow up.

The remaining four invites were given to local movie producer and distributor firm Clover Films’ managing director Lim Teck, Aileen’s older sister, and the wedding solemniser and his wife.
Houren has worked with Lim Teck on a number of projects and their latest collaboration is upcoming Chinese New Year film, Reunion Dinner, which stars both Houren and Joel.
Meanwhile, Aileen’s older sister used to work in Houren’s production company.
Jonathan and his wife Violet first met each other at church, and have been friends for a number of years. They started dating after Jonathan graduated from university and returned from Britain .
