Zhu Houren's Son Joel Choo Knows What He's Wearing For Star Awards 2022… And It’s Wheely Interesting

At this year's Star Awards, one particular outfit took up everyone’s attention — Elvin Ng’s now-iconic bandung-hued ombre suit.

It's a breath of fresh air from usual years where the gowns were pretty much all everyone could talk about — after all, there’s only so much you can say about a plain ol’ tuxedo, right?

Elvin's tall drink of bandung look wasn't the only suit that earned comparisons to local beverages, though — Joel Choo's tan suit was compared to kopi and teh by local supermarket chain Fairprice.

Even though Joel, who is the son of Zhu Houren, didn't get to go on stage this year — he was nominated in the Top 10 Most Popular Male Artiste category — the 26-year-old had no qualms making an award acceptance speech anyway.

And he did it in style in a hilarious IG video, where Joel hoisted not a Star Awards trophy but some canned kopi and teh the supermarket chain had sent him as a gift.
