Zhang Zetong Was So Nervous To Interview Fann Wong And Jeanette Aw That He Flubbed His Lines

Even before meeting the two actresses on the set of the show, Zetong was visibly nervous, remarking to the camera: "When I knew that I had to interview the two Ah Jies, I wanted to be able to leave a good impression, and for quite a few nights, I was racking my brains trying to think of a way to introduce myself.”

And then, when the interview started proper, Zetong’s very first question was immediately rebuffed by a very cheeky Jeanette, with Fann jumping in to add fuel to the fire.

Here’s how their exchange went —

Zetong: "We have a few questions for you today, and a small game to play as well. Is that okay?"
Jeanette: "Can we refuse?”
Fann: "I wanted to say that too”
Zetong: "(Stammers) I.. I... Can I ask you the first question now? I'm really nervous right now, don't make me even more nervous!”

Poor guy.

Oh, and the teasing did not stop there. Later, as Zetong worked his way through a question asking if the svelte actresses were worried that tasting so many desserts on a regular basis would affect their diets, Fann immediately chirped: "Are you saying that we're fat?”, resulting in a very flustered Zetong.

Then, in the middle of the interview, Zetong confessed that he’d suddenly forgotten the questions, asking the producer for his cue cards.

And that was when all hell broke loose.

"I definitely have to tell Chris about this!” Fann exclaimed suddenly. She was, of course, referring to her husband, Christopher Lee, who was Zetong’s mentor in Star Search.

Jeanette then quickly followed up with another zinger.

"Let's just do the interview ourselves!” she laughed, as panic washed over Zetong's face.

But at the end of the day, the interview was pretty much a success, so we’d say that Zetong’s “suffering” at the hands of the very playful actresses was not in vain.
