Yao Wenlong’s Mystery Friend Who Made An Anonymous Donation To Malaysian Flood Victims Is Clearly Christopher Lee

To be honest, it’s not exactly difficult to guess who Wenlong’s pal might be.

Aside from the rather obvious clues about his identity, Wenlong only covered part of his friend’s name in the receipt, leaving the words “Lee M” still visible.

And how many famous Malaysians with “Lee M” in their name are married and have found success in both Singapore and Taiwan?

Before long, netizens put two and two together and deduced that the mystery Good Samaritan could be none other than Christopher Lee aka Li Ming Shun or Lee Meng Soon.

It all adds up perfectly: The 50-year-old was born in Malaysia — Malacca, to be exact — and is based in Singapore with his wife, actress Fann Wong, and their seven-year-old son Zed.

He’s also one of the most respected actors in local showbiz and is doing well in Taiwan too, having picked up his second Golden Bell Award for Best Actor a few months ago.

Now that we think about it: Was Wenlong even trying to keep Chris’ identity a secret to begin with?

What’s more, Malaysian politician Liow Cai Tung, whom Wenlong tagged in his post, directly name-dropped Christopher in her thank you note on Facebook.

“Doing good without asking for recognition,” she wrote. “Thank you to TV king Christopher Lee for caring about Malaysia and helping the victims through Wenlong despite not being in the country. We will use the donations to properly help the affected areas and overcome the difficulties together with the victims.”

8days.sg contacted Christopher’s manager to confirm if it really was the actor who made the donation but did not receive a response.

Other news outlets also requested to speak to the star but were told that he is unable to accept any interviews as he is currently busy with work in Taiwan.
