Yang Guang Ke Le Gives Tour Of Her Rented Condo Where She Keeps Many Of Her Getai Outfits

In the latest episode of Kaypoh Room Tours, Malaysian actress and getai star Yang Guang Ke Le gave YES 933 DJ Hazelle Teo a tour of her abode in Singapore.

The 26-year-old used to travel from her family home in Johor Bahru in the wee hours of the morning to Singapore for work, but has been living in a rented condo here since the pandemic hit over three years ago.

Now, Ke Le can leave the house just 30 minutes before her call time.

She also revealed that the 1300 sq ft four-room condo belongs to her friend and she's only renting one room. However, since no one else stays in the unit, Ke Le can technically use the rest of the space as she likes.

Ke Le went on to show Hazelle her collection of designer brand shoes including a pair of blinged out Prada sneakers, which she said is her favourite. 

“Rich people are just different,” joked Hazelle.

“[I paid for] these with my hard earned money. I only got these few pairs, so I put them here because I knew we were filming today,” said Ke Le.

Ke Le also showed Hazelle her OOTD props, like a huge unicorn float.

“I don’t know how to swim but I like to take pictures. I have a lot of bikinis, and this [unicorn] looks very good in pictures!” laughed Ke Le.

She also showed her balcony, which let's be honest, was dusty and dirty. Ke Le revealed that she doesn’t clean up much, and depends on a robot vacuum.

Her first room is mostly empty apart from her fan signages, a ring light, phone stand for her live streams, and a closet full getai outfits.

“When we host getai, every performance will need four sets of outfits, so we need more variation,” said Ke Le.

“Are you allowed to wear them over and over again?” asked Hazelle.

“Of course!" said Ke Le. "These are my personal ones and they’re not rented. I try not to wear the same outfits back to back ‘cos people might think I don’t change my outfits.”

It’s not hard to see that Ke Le’s is a huge fan of Hello Kitty from her bedroom.

From her Hello Kitty house slippers, to her Hello Kitty mug and bottle, her love for the Japanese character is obvious. Even her blanket has Hello Kitty prints all over.

In her bedroom are also more getai costumes.

“Are all your getai outfits here in this home?” asked Hazelle.

“No! There are some more in my car, and some in my JB home. But those take up more space so it’s inconvenient to bring them here. I can wear these during important events,” said Ke Le.

When asked about her getai schedule, Ke Le said their busiest times would be during the  “Our busiest time would be during the Hungry Ghost Month, and Chinese New Year.”

“So what’s the biggest ang bao you’ve ever received?” probed Hazelle.

“When I was young, I sang this one song ‘My Brother’ and I received a S$1000 note. Last year, I did a performance for CNY and a lot of big bosses were there, and I received a five-digit sum in ang pows.”
