8 DAYS: Sorry to hear about your elimination! How did you feel when Junyang called out your name?
YANG GUANG KE LE: Honestly, I was very happy just to have been part of the competition. Since it’s a contest, it’s inevitable that someone gets kicked out. I was eliminated because I’m not good enough at certain things, and I’m sure that the judges saw that.
Did you feel that you weren’t able to perform as well during the last episode because it was a team event?
The chemistry between the three of us was very good and I felt that we did pretty well during the team round. I respect the judges’ decision, but I’m still very satisfied with how we did during the performance. So no, I don’t think that affected me at all! (laughs)
Did your mentor Junyang tell you why he chose to eliminate you?
I feel that it would have hurt him regardless of who he chose to eliminate. During practice, he did mention my strengths and weaknesses. I feel that he has his own reasons for choosing me. I’m also very aware that I’m not better than everyone else. That’s why I didn’t feel the need to ask him ‘Why me?’. I respect his decision.
[After the interview with Ke Le, 8days.sg spoke to Junyang who told us that he eliminated Ke Le based on "the judges’ comments, feedback and remarks towards her on that particular day." He added that he would "be indirectly ignoring them if [he] were to make [the call] based on [his] own reasoning". "That’s not right either. I have to respect the judges and not jump to my own conclusions," he said.
