Would You Share Your PSLE Score On Social Media? These Celebs Did

What do Jamie Yeo, Joakim Gomez, Sonia Chew and Andie Chen have in common? They shared their PSLE scores on viral campaign #lifebeyondgrades.

On September 14 (Friday), you may have seen on your Instagram feed some celebs and other influential types holding up a card with three numbers on it, along with very long and often emo captions. This is the trump card (literally) of the #lifebeyondgrades movement, the brainchild of PR and fashion girlboss and influencer Tjin Lee, along with fellow parents Dolores Au, Aarika Lee, Charmaine Seah and Derek Ong. They sat down and realised that, damn, the stress, depression and rising rates of suicide among youths have reached boiling point, and something had to be done. They created a campaign which aimed to show that there was life beyond grades, that kids shouldn't be made to feel like good scores were the be all and end all of things, and that in the near future, with disruption of all industries in the works, straight As may not equal success and happiness in life. For maximum impact, a bunch of famous and not-as-famous-but-no-less-successful folks were recruited to show their PSLE scores on social media on the same day, and share stories of how these numbers affected them, and how they don't define them or their successes or failures in life. There was also a call to action for everyone who cared to show their scores and share their stories. We've showcased some of the celebs who've showed their PSLE scores here. To read all the stories, see the hashtag #lifebeyondgrades. To keep up with the progress of the campaign, go to @lifebeyondgrades on Instagram.
