Wang Yuqing Says Zoe Tay Is Such A “Strict Mum”, She Would Go Home During Lunchtime To Make Sure Her Sons Are Studying

It’s no secret that Zoe Tay and Chen Hanwei are BFFs, but did you know that Ah Jie is also really good pals with the OG Mediacorp heartthrob Wang Yuqing?

In fact, it was Yuqing, not Hanwei, who showed up as one of the mystery guests during Zoe’s episode of Mediacorp talk show The Inner Circle (although to be fair, we don’t think Hanwei really qualifies as a “mystery guest” since his friendship with Zoe is so well known, anyone could have expected him to make an appearance).

Like Zoe and Hanwei, who met as Star Search contestants in 1988, Zoe and Yuqing go way, way back. The two of them quickly became close after working together in 1989’s A Mother’s Love.

“This guy (Yuqing) is amazing,” Zoe, 53, told host Guo Liang. “Whenever I was sad, I would call him, and he would drive to my house without a second thought just to comfort me, even though I lived very far away.”
