Vivian Lai’s Husband Alain Ong, Who Is The Ex CEO Of Pokka, Charged With Disclosure Offences

Former CEO of Pokka International Alain Ong, 47, was charged in court today (Nov 12) on three counts under the Companies Act.

Alain, who is Vivian Lai’s husband, was also a director in Pokka International and Pokka Corporation (Singapore).

He allegedly failed to disclose his interest in both Pokka entities when the companies entered into transactions with drinks manufacturer Asian Story Corporation (ASC).

The first occasion took place in 2010, when Pokka International and ASC signed a distribution agreement. The second took place in 2016, when the two companies signed a manufacturing agreement.

He was asked to leave Pokka International in September 2018.

Violations under the Company Act are criminal offences, and he could face a jail term of up to 12 months or fined up to S$5,000 if convicted.
