“More Athletic Than Me”: S’pore Netizens Amazed By 62-Year-Old Woman’s Parkour Skills

You may have recently come across a video of 62-year-old woman, Lim, who has gone viral for her impressively nimble parkour skills.

The clip, originally posted on Movement Singapore’s Instagram page, has racked up over 238K likes and has since been widely reposted across social media, leaving many Singaporeans in awe of just how agile and athletic Lim is at 62.

Lim was seen moving swiftly across a Toa Payoh neighbourhood playground, leaping from point to point, scaling taller obstacles and even executing a clean somersault on the ground.

Amazed by her parkour chops, netizens presumably much younger than Lim praised her for her agility, with one penning: "She's lowkey more athletic than me."

"That’s a human who will never have to wait for firefighters to save her," penned another.

Others also called her "impressive" and "inspiring", expressing their respect for both Lim and her trainer.

One netizen even joked: "I think she’s one of my sergeant’s grandmother."

A commenter said they would be “more than happy” if their mum could do what Lim does, as it would mean she’s healthy. Another 63-year-old woman jokingly said she hoped to meet Lim “at the playground for a play date.”

However, there were also a few who expressed concern for Lim's safety.

"Not worth it at her age. One fall and you will regret it for the remaining years of your life," wrote one netizen, while another simply added: "Don't hurt yourself."

Those doubtful of her skills clearly haven't seen her credentials.

According to Movement Singapore, Lim is a Lindy Hop dance master.

"[She is] a great example of someone who has kept herself physically and mentally active her whole adult life and therefore easily excelled in Parkour after picking it up a few years ago," they wrote.

Lim has been dancing for nearly four decades and also leads dance programmes and classes in Singapore. She regularly shares snippets of her performances on Instagram — and let’s just say, she more than holds her own even alongside dancers who appear much younger than her.
