Ex Mediacorp Actress Tong Bing Yu Won’t Be Taking Action Against Live Stream Flasher
Tsk, keep it in your pants, guys.
Just as everyone in Singapore is shaking their fists at those responsible for the recent KTV COVID-19 cluster, we get another tale of a man who literally couldn’t keep it in his pants. Tsk tsk.
Last Saturday (Jul 10), former Mediacorp actress Tong Bing Yu aka Chris Tong did an Instagram Live session with Malaysian DJs Nicholas Ong and Phoebe Yap.
The three of them were discussing fundraising and donation efforts for their country’s White Flag Movement, an initiative that was launched to help those struggling amidst the pandemic, when they accepted a male viewer’s request to join the stream, believing his claim about wanting to share his thoughts on the situation.
However, to the shock and horror of the trio and everyone else tuning in, the guest’s camera showed a naked man stroking his private parts.
Phoebe, the admin, tried to end the broadcast and start a new one while poor Bing Yu and Nicholas were stuck in the room with the flasher for two to three minutes, at a loss about what to do.
What was that guy thinking?
Bing Yu later shared a censored screenshot of the extremely NSFW moment on her Facebook to complain, writing: “Encountered a flasher during a live stream, it’s just… if you have psychological problems, please see a psychologist, and have respect for others and yourself!!! Don’t be so disgusting.”
In an interview with a Malaysian paper, the 38-year-old revealed that she, Nicholas, and Phoebe later wondered if they should have humiliated the flasher by making fun of his size.
“The more nervous and afraid we were, the more excited he would be,” she explained.
Hindsight is always 20/20
Resourceful fans of Bing Yu eventually helped to uncover the flasher’s Facebook page and other bits of information, but by then, he had already changed his account name and profile picture.
In another Facebook post, Bing Yu confirmed that she does not intend to report the perv to Instagram or the police as his account no longer exists and he has not caused them further trouble. She also told the media that she hopes to give him the chance to turn over a new leaf.
However, if any of her artiste friends ask her about the incident in private, she will send him his details to remind them to be careful.
“Fans sent me screenshots of that moment and I still got a little angry seeing them,” she said. “I also had fans join my previous live stream with [Malaysian singer] Yise Loo, but all we did was sing… I never thought that this world could be so sinister, I really need to be careful next time.”
