Despite No Acting Roles Since Star Search 2024 Win, Tiffany Ho Isn't Worried Viewers Will Forget Her

It’s been more than a year since Tiffany Ho was crowned Star Search 2024 champion. So why haven’t we seen her in any dramas yet?

Surprise, surprise, that was actually a decision the 20-year-old made herself after receiving the trophy in November 2024.

In a recent interview with Chinese media Shin Min Daily News, Tiffany, who came from Hong Kong to study in Singapore when she was 14, revealed that she decided to prioritise her studies and postpone her plans to enter showbiz after thorough consideration.

But does it at least sting a little when she sees her fellow Star Search peers — such as first runner-up Gladys Bay and second runner-up Jona Chung — gradually making a name for themselves? To date, Gladys and Jona have scored lead roles in Mediacorp dramas Under The Net and The Cellphone Swap respectively.

Well, the Nanyang Polytechnic information technology student is unexpectedly composed.

“Seeing my peers gradually releasing their works, I really feel happy for them. I watch every drama they act in and have always supported them," she replied graciously.

While it’s no secret that exposure is vital in showbiz, Tiffany is unfazed by the thought that audiences might forget her despite her absence from the screen.

“Gold always shines. Although my starting line might be a bit behind others, after I graduate, I will start acting in dramas and have various opportunities to appear on screen," she assured.

"Just like how I also try my best to share different types of content on social media. I hope everyone can continue to see me.”

However, Tiffany hasn't been completely out of the spotlight.

She recently participated in Mediacorp's Chinese New Year Eve Special 2026 and was also one of the main performers of the broadcaster's Chinese New Year single 'Money Money'.

That said, Tiffany remains realistic about her acting career at this point.

When asked what genre her first drama might be, the actress admitted that she doesn’t dare think too far ahead.

She will instead look forward to any type of drama or role since it will be her first experience.

The IT student also confessed that "being able to enter this industry was a result of fate."

"Whether I will pursue both an acting career and IT in the future, it’s too early to say," she revealed.

"For now, I will focus on my studies. If my schedule allows, I will participate in some company-arranged activities. How things go after graduation will only be decided then.”
