‘90s Mediacorp Heartthrobs Peter Yu, Jason Oh & Colin Chee Team Up With Terence Cao To Become Live Streamers

Is there a new boyband in town?

Nope, it's just Terence Cao, 54, and his new live stream buds, fellow ex-Mediacorp actors Peter Yu, 55, Jason Oh, 56, and Colin Chee, 56.

Peter, Jason and Colin have been making frequent guest appearances on Terence's e-commerce live stream platform Sibay Shiok, and the quartet has won the hearts of viewers, earning praise for their onscreen chemistry. 

In a recent interview, the gang talked about how the collaboration came about. 

"They saw how tired I was live streaming every day so they came to save me," quipped Terence. 

Peter, however, joked that he was "scammed" into live streaming after having a meal with Terence. 

"I happened to not be filming at that time so I was "scammed" into working with them. Prior to this, I didn't know anything about live streaming and online content," he laughed. 

As for Collin, who left showbiz in 1996 and became a businessman, shared he actually wasn't used to appearing on screen like that.

"Initially when I went to the night market with them [for a live streaming session], I felt quite uncomfortable. Terence told me to not care and just walk through the street,” said Colin, who added that he likes to do things that make him happy now that he’s in his fifties.

As for Jason, he wanted in on the collab after he went on a live stream with Terence in Malaysia and was shocked by how they had about 100K viewers on the first night. 

The four stars also teased each other for still behaving like the idols they were back in the ’90s.

Among the four, Terence and Jason feel Peter is the most image conscious. 

"Out of the seven dramas he filmed, five were nominated for international awards. On Friday (Oct 13) he's even going to walk a red carpet in Egypt," revealed Terence. 

Collin begged to differ, and called Terence out for being the most vain. 

Terence's response? "You can only blame my parents. They made me like that."

"Every time my mum watches my live streams, she will ask why my hair is so messy, why I didn't dye my white hair black or why I don't have clothes to wear," he laughed.
